Many face painters enjoy the comfort of cake paints – they’re easy to use, easy to store, can be used straight from their container and versatile in application with any brush or sponge. Because of this, many cake based painters are sceptical about branching out into liquid face and body paints because they have the potential to be messy and wasteful but I don’t believe this to be the case. Whilst both cake and liquid paints have their ups and downs, integrating liquid paints into your kit is highly advantageous.
Hygiene: The biggest benefit of liquid face paint is its higher level of hygiene. With liquid paints, you only use what you pour onto the palette which can then be washed or even discarded. No contaminants ever reach the inside of the bottle, which means that your business has the potential to expand to sick children in hospitals without worrying about bringing harmful germs in or out through your paints.
Color Mixing: Colors can be mixed with ease on the palette and you won’t lose consistency as you would with cake paints, nor does it take as long. With cakes, if you try to mix on a palette, you run the risk of using too much water and diluting the mix, or not using enough and drying it out.
No Added Water: The paint will always come out of the bottle the same way every time, and in the perfect consistency which will save you heaps of time and water.
Airbrushing?: As well as being brush and sponge friendly, some liquid paints such as the Mehron Liquid Makeup range can also very conveniently be used with an airbrush. Airbrushing is not only super easy, but can produce beautiful designs coupled with stencils in no time at all and is extremely hygienic.
