First Face Painting – SF Competition

The following is an entry sent in for our monthly Silly Farm Supplies Competition!

“First Face Painting”
Sent in by Jan Volkmann

I’m hooked!  After downloading Philadelphia’s e-book and watching her tutorials, I knew I had to give this craft a try!  I was asked to do face painting at a Independance Day celebration July 13, and admitted needing some instruction.  I’ve painted on lots of surfaces, but never on faces!

Jan Volkmann First Face Painting

I ordered the Snazaroo cake paints and couldn’t wait to get started.  I found it’s one thing to paint on my own steady hand or a glass plate, and quite another to paint on a mobile 7-year-old.  But my granddaughter Hope allowed me to “practice” on her, and the attached photo shows the result of my first attempt.

Thanks to a great website and fantastic tutorials, with a little more practice I think I can do it!

Hey Jan… awesome painting! Really like the butterfly on the cheek :)
You can definitely ‘do’ this, and I hope to see much more from you!

Hi Jan!

You are good! Those designs are so colorful and detailed. You’ve gotten off to a really good start. Keep at it! You can’t do anything, but get better!!
