What a cute design for Easter! My daughter was watching over my shoulder and we had to go try it right away. I wanted to also say thank you for sharing your information and knowledge. I am just beginning to try to branch out into face-painting, and you have really given me the courage to look beyond my “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and basic designs.
Have a great day!

Hi,
i notice on your video for easter egg you were painting on something what was it called again? and is this what we should use to practice our face painting? also you said you were using cake paint.. which one is that and what is the difference
April 3rd, 2008 at 6:11 pm
Hi Laura,
This link has a video that will explain everything you need to know about practice pads:
http://facepaintingtips.com/blog/2008/03/26/p2-pro-practice-pad-product-review-video/
This link will explain about cake paints and liquid paints:
http://facepaintingtips.com/blog/2008/02/20/cake-paints-vs-liquid-paints-what-do-you-prefer/
A cake paint is a paint that is solid, and you need to add water to it to use it for painting. Liquids don’t require water to mix with, they’re ready to use immediately.
Hope that helps

I could not get the video probably bec it was thru youtube which is blocked on my computer however I am able to see your videos

Philadelphia,
I want to congratulate you for your wonderful page, information and tips. You have great customer service skills and your page is loaded with very useful information and resources.
The idea of the videos is wonderful. It is very different to see something on a paper vs a demostration were you see so much details and know hows.
I do have an observation for you, so you can have a more professional look. pay attention to the backgrounds you choose for your videos and demostartion. a white wall is better than a busy wall. If you are going to show a table , have a neutral linen, instead of decorative ones. Or if you are painting someone, put them against a white wall or neutral background. You don want to show your bedroom, house decorations, etc because it makes the videos homy.
please excuseme if I am been to frank for you, But I am so amazed by everything you are doing, that I want you to be as good as you are and better.
I am learning a lot from you.

Hi Ivonne,
Glad to hear you’re enjoying our website, and I am really thankful for your comments, I really do appreciate constructive criticism!
I think you’re absolutely right, and the next videos I do will have a screen behind me, or some sort of neutral white wall etc
I like my videos to feel personal, but I don’t want them to look unprofessional. Those are some good tips, I’ll definately take them on board

Very easy to follow instructions
April 5th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
I really enjoy the videos as they show me exactly what type of brushes and helps to show me your technique a bit more. The egg is so simple that it may be one of the ones I will use the most during the Easter season.
My daughter does children birthday parties giving horseback rides and I thought I might advertise with her website to go along with her horse rides at birthday parties and the cheek art may be what I will be pursuing because of the fact that it is much quicker and will help to occupy the children while they wait for their turn on the horse. Keep those videos coming, they are thoroughly enjoyable.
Sincerely
Patty

Hi!
Is it easier on the pad than on the cheak?
Where can I go to buy liquid face paint, or what type of paint can you work with best?
You know it is very nice of you to do these videos, I had been looking for help but never found something like this
thanks
Raquel

What type of pad did you use for the easter egg cheek art video? It is just a pad of paper some special practice pad?
April 13th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Hi Carol, Patty, Raquel and Rita!
To answer your question Raquel:
Painting on a practice pad is just as easy as painting on the skin. And I use cake paints which you can buy here:
Snazaroo Face Paints: Buy Here for Best Prices.
And to answer your question Rita:
I used a P2 Pro Practice Pad that I actually did a video review of, you can watch that here: http://facepaintingtips.com/blog/2008/03/26/p2-pro-practice-pad-product-review-video/
Happy Face Painting everybody!

I perfer watching actual face painting, it shows a better result. Thanks.
April 24th, 2008 at 7:02 am
I enjoy watching your practice videos. I have just started to learn so I can paint for my kids parties. I think it would be good for your paints and water to be in the shot when you film your demos…so we can see how much paint/water and the consistency on the brush.
regards,
natalie, australia
April 24th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
I agree with Natalie… might be good to see how you work your cakes into a good consistency, even if you devote one video to such
April 30th, 2008 at 12:25 am
very simple. easy to follow. please keep the cheek art coming!!!
