hi philadelphia- I love that you are doing instructional videos- it’s great- I am curious as to why you used a flat brush for such a curvy picture. (I am still learning what brush to use where)

I am wanting to purchase some paints, but am uncertain on what to buy. I have had no luck with the party store cake paints and the liquids just don’t dry quick enough. Do the cake paints offered by Silly Farm spread easily?

Thanks Philadelphia. I think some of the simplest designs are the best. Love the video. Hope to see more . Thanks Face Painter in Training. Muralist for 15 plus years….

Hello there… Kim, Michelle and Stephanie!

Thanks for leaving comments and questions :-)

Firstly Kim — Man, you always come up with good questions! Why did I use a flat brush instead of a round brush perhaps?
Well, to be honest, (you’ll probably think this is funny) I get a little nervous infront of the camera! I guess I just picked up the
brush that was closest to me. Woops! A round brush would have been more suitable, but once you get really comfortable
with all your different brushes, you can almost use any one of them to paint anything! For more curvy designs, round brushes are great.

Michelle — Silly Farm stock a wide range of different face paint brands. I prefer Snazaroo because of its nice colors and the
fact that its easy to apply. But go check out Silly Farms range, they only stock professional face paint, I’m sure you’d be happy with
any brand that they have :-)

Stephanie — Great to hear you’re enjoying our blog :-)

Happy Face Painting Everyone!

Hi, I’m so sorry to say but at St. Patricks day all our shamrock only has three leaves. four leave clovers are nothing to do with St. Pats day, they just mean it’s luckey to find them. Anyway really like all your information and posts. happy Easter from Ireland. Den xx

Hi Philadelphia

Thank you for all the face painting tips. I enjoy learning new ways to paint. Im an Irish girl and it is very rare to find a four leafed clover here at home. It is a sign of good luck if you find one though. Shamrock too is rare to find in Ireland as it is very similar to a three leafed clover. We have plenty of three leafed clover growing in abundance and many people get the shamrock and clover mixed up. It should be a three leafed shamrock for St. Patricks day

Hi Philadelphia,
Thank you for the many hours you put into encouraging and sharing your knowledge and experience about face-painting. And ‘good on you’ for taking the leap into webcam demonstrations. Much appreciated.
I have a question for ‘Eileen’… what is the difference between a shamrock and clover???
Blessings for Easter to all
Diana

Hi Philidelphia, thanks so much for sharing the video demonstrating the Easter Bunny face paint design. I did so many of these today and everyone of them went away hopping happily! Keep the ideas coming!

Hi guys,(Eileen, Diana AKA Colour Me, Jo Tomlinson, and Jessica evans) thanks for the comments and encouragement, I’d so happy that you’re enjoying our blog!

To Jessica, the brand of face paint that I use is called Snazaroo cake paints. (Snazaroo Face Paints: Buy Here for Best Prices from the UK. ) You can also buy Snazaroo face paints from SillyFarm.com
I love them, they’re so easy to use, and the colors are fantastic!

Happy Face Painting everybody!

Hi-thanks for the cheek designs-this is what I needed, not the full face designs. I do Arts and & Crafts at a campground in Southern Wisconsin, USA, during the summer. I live in Florida during the winter. I use face painting as a way to draw in the children to do Crafts on Saturday mornings at Blackhawk Campground, Milton Wi. If you go to their page, go to activities, there is a picture of a little boy with a green snake across his face. It is quick, simple, and little boys love getting to pick the color of the snake.
thanks Liz

I love the little cheek art butterfly, it was so simple to do but very effective, thank you

17 Noodles the Clown April 3, 2008 at 7:17 pm

The four leaf clover was okay. Good for St. Patrick’s Day but I probably would not use it any other time.

18 Noodles the Clown April 3, 2008 at 7:30 pm

Wow.. how easy the butterfly looked. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks once again.

19 Lee April 3, 2008 at 7:43 pm

This is one of the nicest yet simple cheek butterflies that I have seen :)

From this I can see what i need to do to improve my own butterflies. thank you.

25 Rita Segura April 6, 2008 at 3:06 pm

Well done. Just the type of simple face painting I am going to need for my April 26, 2008 community art fair. I have not done face painting at a fair, only for a few friends children. I am a little nervous. I want to wow them since it is part of my employers goodwill event in the community.
I hope you are done with the video before then so I can download it.
Today is April 6th, 2008. Any idea of completion date?
Thanks, your video blog was wonderful.
Philadelphia, you may want to drink some water before the video blog. You seem parched when you talk. Just a suggestion, otherwise it was nicely done.

26 Rita Segura April 6, 2008 at 3:25 pm

What type if paints do you use? I like that you can use a big brush to apply the color quickly (good for small children with short attention spans). Where do you get them?
Thanks. Your design was really pretty.

27 Dana April 6, 2008 at 6:56 pm

Thank you for the video. You make the four leaf clover easy.

28 joan mcgee April 6, 2008 at 9:13 pm

31 angie April 12, 2008 at 10:52 am

Nice leaf clover .

34 Jo Tomlinson May 12, 2008 at 9:36 am

I just googled face painter, Mandurah (my home town) as I got a couple of bookings since submitting my details on a couple of websites and wanted to check which were working for me. When I did, my details came up with a link to this website, which is fine…except that my home address was also supplied! Could you please arrange for this not to happen in future?
Thanks,
Jo. (Arti-Face Face Painting & Murals)

35 Jo Tomlinson May 12, 2008 at 9:42 am

A thousand apologies! It was the snazaroo website link, not yours! And it was my own fault for putting my address on in full! So if you’re thinking of doing it and you don’t want your address on there, just put a contact Mob No or e mail address. Although I do wish I hadn’t put my e mail address on there either as I’ve had so much spam since I did.
Cheers,

Jo (Arti-Face Face Painting & Murals)
