Put Up a Free Webpage for Your Face Painting Business
Email this to Your Friends!
Okay, you’ve probably realised by now that having a website can be really important for building your face painting business. Face painting is visual, and unless they’ve seen you at a gig - potential customers always want to see examples of your face painting designs before they book.
But getting a website designed can be expensive, and when you’re just starting out you might just want to put up a free webpage.
Here are a couple of sites, that will let you create and host your own website on their’s for FREE!
http://www.weebly.com/
http://members.freewebs.com/
http://www.bravenet.com/
And don’t think that you have to know any crazy techy language. These websites give you easy to use templates, so if you’ve ever typed a word doc in your life, you should have no trouble putting up a pretty website with lots of pictures!
My favourite place to host your own free website is Google Pages. You can read about it here: http://pages.google.com/-/about.html (Firstly you need to sign up for a gmail account, when you do that, choose your username wisely, because your username will be part of your website name)
Why is it my favourite you ask? Well, I think you’d agree that having a website is pretty pointless, unless you’re getting traffic - getting other people to see it.
And how do you get traffic? Well, besides telling all your friends and family to go see it and printing your website address on your business cards etc you need your website to rank in the search engines like Google (Google is the most used search engine in the world!)
Now, do you think that if you used Google pages to put up your own site that maybe, just maybe, Google will favor your website… just a little…??
That’s why its my fav! Go check it out now, if you want a free and easy way to have your face painting business online!
And if you have any questions or have something to add, let’s strike up a converstion - just leave a comment to get the ball rollin’!

Thanks a lot! I have a bravenet.com website, but I don’t have any face painting pictures on it, yet. But you’ve given me some wonderful ideas on how to get some good pictures. I’m going to invite all my little cousins, grandchildren or any kid I know over for pizza and get them to let me paint them. My husband is an amateur photographer and can take the pictures. Girl, you are such a great help to me! You don’t know how much! This website offers wonderful ideas to get us started on building our face painting business! Thanks, again!!!

Thank you so much for the great advice on websites. I just created my site on google (not a lot of options on formatting and when I did a search, my page did not pop up, well at least not in the first few pages of results. But that’s okay. I basically wanted something that I could post a sample gallery, fee for service and contact info to send out to my network. The site works well for being free. You have been a huge help and I love all the tips. Just an FYI I purchased your online manual. .

Thank you for the info!
Do you have to have a website built at one of those 3 free sites before you can put it on your Gmail? I would love to do this but it is all a little confusing for a computer dummie.
Thanks again,

Hi Philadelphia, To all your readers, it is very easy to post a website on googlepages. If you can type a message on this blog you can create a website on googlepages. Here is my site: http://mulanmagicandfacepainting.googlepages.com
I just learned that you have to take an additional step to verify your website first before it is searchable. Philadelphia, to answer your question on the manual. I got value from your website and blog and the manual. The designs in the manual were too advance for me to turn in 3-6 minutes. But I have no regrets, your service and guidance has been well worth the investment. I’m learning so much and encourage anyone who has gotten value from your website to support you! Here is a tppic idea, if you can do a blog on “setting up your face painting station” I would greatly appreciate your advice and the advice of others.

Mulan… lovely site! I’m impressed how googlepages looks for being free.
Giggles… you do not need a gmail account at all for the first 3 free sites that Philadelphia posted. You DO however need a gmail account for the googlepages site. These are all separate from each other and you can create a free site from any, none or all of these if you chose to.
I hope that clarifies… if not, let us know so we can help you out
