I have 2 questions- one is regarding the valentine princess- looks like a smoothie brush was used for the gold glitter base- do you think that is right? Is a smoothie meant only for dry powders? Do you wet it first and then apply the glitter, or is it all dry application? I also watched the spiderman video and I noticed the blue is coming from a jar- do you think it is liquid paint? What are the pros/cons of liquid paint? Do most face painters use the cakes and only liquids for certain things?
I LOVE how you always send us videos and tips! I look forward to seeing them in my email! I also liked how the valentine video had a view bar along the bottom that let’s you watch a bunch of other videos.
thanks for all of your help!

Hi Kim,
Great questions! And its always good to hear from you on the blog
She used a smoothie brush for the gold glitter base, you don’t have to
use smoothies just for dry powders. But thats what it mainly used for,
and mainly used for larger shading areas or to apply glitter.
As for wetting the smoothies…use a smoothie the way you would a
sponge. Wet the paints not the smoothie. And if using glitter, use a glitter gel its easier to apply.
And liquid paint verses cakes? Its totally up to the painter. Some beginners might find the liquid paints easier because it can sometimes be tricky to get the right consistency when working with cakes.
I think I should make post this question on the blog, to get other peoples opinions on cakes versus liquid! It’s more a personal thing, you know?
Try both, see what works for you.
Hope this helps
