“Face Painting in Spanglish”
Sent in by Patrice Bowes
Hi everyone! I thought I would share a quick story that happened recently. I am fairly new in the world of face painting, but having a blast. Recently My company was asked to provide our services at a festival celebrating the Hispanic culture.
I thought it would great - there are kids there right?
When I arrived I realized I was one of the few that did not know spanish, I tried in school. I thought - “great, what am I going to do?”
Well as it turned out … no worries… fun and smiles are universal! By using the few pictures and a lot of hand signals, we managed to satisfy over 400 clients that day!
And I learned a little spanish! so it goes to show we may not be able to fix the world but we can sure paint it brighter!
