Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

With the kids out of school and on holidays, keeping them entertained without sticking them infront of the TV can be kind of tricky sometimes, don’t you think?

So here’s a fun idea for an activity that you can play… body painting. But not just any body painting, creating characters and even animals. To really get what I mean, watch the video, then get your paints out, share them with the kids and start creating these little body painting characters with your kids!

(I’m pretty sure this artist has been inspired by Guido Daniele, they’re not bad hey?)

Do you have any fun activity ideas for kids that involve face/body painting? Any games that you might play with them?

How to Make Your Paintings Look 3D!

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Want to make your face painting designs look more 3D? They’ll instantly look more professional! Here’s the trick… it’s all about shadow and light. Practice with something simple, like say a red circle. Paint a red circle then think about where you want the light to be shining from, and where on the circle its shining. Then paint that part a lighter red (or even white), and from that point outwards let the red gradually get darker. Red Sphere

It should begin to look like a sphere instead of just a circle, then once you’re confident with this face painting technique, you can apply it to parts of your favorite face painting designs!

Snazaroo Electric Face Paints

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

With Christmas coming up I’m sure that you’ll want to do something very special with your face painting, and if you haven’t tried Snazaroo Electric Face Paints then I happily recommend you do!

What’s so good about these paints you ask? Well Snazaroo Electric Face Paint colors have an extremely bold and ”sheen” appearance. It has a really cool metallic and slightly pearlescent look.

Buy Snazaroo Metallic and Glitter Face PaintsI swear, some kids want to get their face painted just because they saw someone else thats already been painted with these electric colors! They look amazing. In the header picture above, we used Snazaroo electric blue on the design to the right, and trust me… it looks ten times better in real life!

Just as a tip… if you want an even bolder shine to your finished face painting, you can sprinkle a little of the SNAZAROO iridescent powders on top of the make-up cake and mix prior to adding to the face. For example this can make the silver look almost like aluminum foil. You can do the same with the gold iridescent powder or any of the other powders.

If you really want to take your face paint designs to the next level, then you’ve got to be using the right tools. And to make your designs extra special, I recommend you try Snazaroo Electric face paints

If you already use them, and know how amazing they look compared to the standard colors then leave a comment and share your thoughts and opinions!

And it doesn’t matter where you are in the world, if you want to get your hands on some Sparkle face paints you can order them online right here at Party Domain!

P.s Here’s what Kim Baker from NJ thought about our Christmas Guide:
Your xmas designs are great and I like how you start by mentioning what colors and what brushes are need for each design.  I painted the kids today before our visit to the nursing home to see their great grandmother and I know the residents will love to see them with cheery holiday faces!  I enjoy your weekly email tips on painting as well- you are doing a wonderful job!  Keep more ideas coming!!!”
